So if you love a little retail therapy now and then — or a lot — get ready to sink into the plush couch because Naples shopping is a dream.

Naples Shopping Districts

Shopping in Naples is one of the top things to do in Naples, and there are more than several destination shopping areas and districts from north Naples and Bonita Springs to Marco Island.

Perhaps the two most famous shopping districts in Naples are 5th Avenue South and Third Street South.

Both districts are in downtown Naples and within walking distance of each other (about 6 or 8 blocks), but Third Street South is in what’s referred to as Olde Naples.

Both have unique upscale boutiques carrying designer brands for your wardrobe and home.

Many items are one-of-a-kind, which makes shopping here so much fun.

Spend the day shopping and dining on Third Street South

5th Avenue South

5th Avenue Naples downtown has some of the most unique shops in Naples.

It’s also one of the busiest shopping areas.

Shopping is easy and walkable during the day, and some of Naples’ best restaurants with outdoor cafe tables are the perfect place for a drink or snack before moving on to more shopping.

In the evening during season, 5th Avenue turns into a scene, where diners lucky enough to score an outside table enjoy dinner and people-watch, while drivers-by wonder where they’re parked and how soon they’re leaving.

Street parking along 5th Avenue South can be tough in season so use the parking garages.

There are two off 5th Avenue — one located a block north of 5th and one a block south, and both are within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Third Street South

Third Street South — or 3rd Street South — feels a bit more relaxed and casual than Fifth Avenue.

It’s the home of the Saturday morning Third Street Farmer’s Market and just two blocks from the Naples Pier on 12th Avenue.

Here are some highlights not to miss:

Waterside Shops

Tucked in behind the Barnes & Noble and the Artis-Naples complex off Rte. 41 in central Naples, the Waterside Shops Naples is barely viewable from the road.

It’s one place we bring family and friends when they visit because the shopping here is excellent and the setting is so lovely.

There’s a Saks Fifth Avenue along with familiar brands like Pottery Barn, Chicos, Ralph Lauren, Lilly Pulitzer, Free People, and Williams-Sonoma.

You’ll also find designer brands like Carolina Herrera, Tiffany, Michael Kors, Omega, and Louis Vuitton with lines out the door.

On hot sunny days, there is plenty of shade from covered walkways and benches to sit on and relax.

Mercato

This lively outdoor walking mall is a mini-town within the city.

The entrance along Rte. 41 in North Naples is always bustling as shoppers pull in to Whole Foods throughout the day.

If you stay straight, a host of shops and restaurants line both sides of Strada Place, many of them are nightlife hotspots in Naples for craft cocktails, cigars, drag shows, and excellent live music.

You’ll find parking lots and a garage with plenty of spaces.

The garage connects to the Silverspot Theater and restaurants making it easy to get around and very walkable.

Here are some highlights not to miss:

  • Casual Apparel - Southern Tide, Simply Natural, and Tommy Bahama

  • Cupcakes - Grace & Shelly’s Cupcakes

  • Coffee - Narrative Coffee Roasters

  • Ice cream - Kilwin’s

The Village Shops on Venetian Bay

If there one place where Naples truly lives up to its Italian name, it’s in the Neapolitan-styled Village on Venetian Bay, a real gem in Naples.

Designed and developed to look like the canals of Venice, the waterfront homes and condos here bear a good resemblance, and it’s fun to walk around.

The Village itself has shops and restaurants on both sides of Park Shore, where you can park in either lot and walk between the two through the underground tunnel or at the crosswalk.

There’s a Tommy Bahama store here, and a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream — which definitely comes in handy after a delicious meal at one of the restaurants.

On the south side, there are several lovely boutiques that always have unique gifts.

A Horse of a Different Color has fun and always unique gifts, and Sukie’s Wine Shop is the place to shop for all things vino.

For little fashionista, check out All About April for high end fashion for tots to teens.
