Rainbow Springs State Park is a great place for a tubing adventure along the Rainbow River.

Located by one of Florida’s natural springs, tubers enjoy crystal-clear waters that are a refreshing 72 degrees year-round.

You can rent a tube through the park or bring your own tube. As you cruise down the river, you’ll see the area’s natural beauty, including native plants and wildlife.

A tubing trip down the river lasts an average of about 2 hours. A tram ride is available back to the tubing entrance and is included with tube rentals.

Rainbow Springs State Park is open daily from 8 am to sunset.

TIPS:

  • State Park admission is $2 per person.
  • Tube & Tram tickets are $24 per person.
  • From Memorial Day through Labor Day, tubing is available from 8 am to 4 pm.
  • During the off-season (April until Memorial Day and after Labor Day through mid-October), tubing is available on weekends only.
  • The tubing entrance is closed for the winter season from mid-October through March.
  • The swimming area can be accessed from the Headsprings Day Use Area Entrance.

KP Hole Park – Dunnellon

KP Hole Park is another excellent Rainbow River spot to enjoy tubing. This lesser-known, but still popular spot is just a short drive away from Rainbow River State Park.

A leisurely tube ride down the river lasts approximately four hours from the launch site to the endpoint at Blue Run of Dunnellon Park. A convenient return shuttle service is included when you purchase a tubing package.

KP Hole Park is open from 8 am to 8 pm from April through September and 8 am to 5 pm from October through March.

TIPS:

  • Tubing season runs from April through September.
  • Park entrance fees are $7 per person.
  • Tubers will want to purchase a tubing package, which includes park entry, tube rental, and a return shuttle service for $30.
  • Guests are not permitted to bring their own tubes.
  • Life jackets are available upon request.

This is the perfect place if you are looking for a budget-friendly option, as admission is $3 to $5 dollars and you can bring your own tube.

Spend your morning floating around the park’s natural spring, while also enjoying amenities like a playground, picnic areas, and full-service concession.

You can also plan to utilize Kelly Park’s kayak launch and camping areas.

Kelly Park and Rock Springs Run State Preserve is open from 8 am to 8 pm in the summer and 8 am to 6 pm in the winter.

TIPS:

  • Park admission is $3 per vehicle with 1 to 2 people and $5 per vehicle with 3 to 8 people.
  • Tube rentals are not available within the park. Check out nearby vendors or bring your own tube.
  • The waterfront and nature trail close one hour before the park closes.
  • Pets and alcohol are not permitted within the park.
  • This park’s parking lot often reaches capacity within an hour of opening during summer hours, so we recommend arriving before it opens.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park is a great tubing destination with multiple tubing areas. Visitors can float along the Ichetucknee River from both Midpoint Launch and Dampier’s Landing.

Either access point leads you to the South Takeout, where you can enjoy a short walk to the south entrance parking lot. Alternatively, you can purchase a tram service wristband from the park’s General Store and enjoy a tram ride back.

Unlikely most tubing options in Florida, Ichetucknee Springs allows and recommends that you book your tube rentals and transportation in advance through their website.

Ichetucknee Springs State Park is open daily from 8 am to sunset.

TIPS:

  • Admission is $6 per vehicle with two to eight people.
  • Tube launches close daily at 4 pm, or earlier if capacity is reached.

Ginnie Springs is a fantastic spot for tubing along the Santa Fe River. This privately-run nature park offers plenty of other things to do as well, such as swimming, snorkeling, paddling, and scuba diving.

Visitors can enjoy a leisurely tube ride down the river’s cool and clear spring water.

From the Beaver’s Landing access point to the exit point at Twin Spring, the experience lasts about one hour. It takes about 15 minutes to walk back to the parking lot area.

Onsite facilities include bathhouses, picnic areas, a general store, and Ginnie’s Grill – a restaurant that serves snacks and meals. This fun place has plenty of amenities, perfect for spending a day at the springs.

Ginnie Springs opens daily at 8 am. Closure varies by day and season, typically between 5 pm and 7 pm.

TIPS:

  • Adult admission is usually $25 or $20 during the off-season. Admission for children ages 5 through 12 years old is $6. Children 4 and under are admitted for free.
  • Daily admission passes are issued until 4 pm each day and expire at sunset.
  • Tube rentals are $8 for a single tube and $16 for a double tube.
  • Guests are allowed to bring their own tubes.
